A quiet life that of Alessandro Galanti: happily together with the same woman since he was 16, two children, graduated in Economics at the Catholic University in Milan, worked since a young man in the precision engineering company of his father Salvatore.

Until two years ago when, upon a painful event, the death of his father, he had to make a change. The family business arose and grew thanks to the skills and direction of his father but now it was time to look for a dimension which would better reflect him, a new expression of himself showing his more creative and artistic side.

This is how Algala Lux came about, furniture jewelry, a line of accessories for furnishings (from table setting to furniture handles) whose forms are borrowed from nature. The name talks: Algala are the initials of Alessandro Galanti, sole creator and designer of the project and Lux stands for luxury but also light, because by modifying the angles of light, new, different effects are always created thus allowing an object to change and always be new.

The inspiration of Alessandro manifests itself from his observation of nature: dates, walnuts, carobs and oysters are just some of the elements that are used for his creations. From here, they come from moulds which melt metal materials and form the desired shapes. The objects are then gold plated. The process is that of lost wax casting, a sculpture technique coming from the Bronze Age and used primarily in Greek and Roman art. Alessandro, who relies on the collaboration of a jewelry model maker who he defines as “the arm which makes his ideas,” is not only the creative mind but is also the one who completes and finishes the final object. Experimentation is a daily occurrence, because nature has a countless matrix of shapes, for instance when we went to visit, they were examining cabbage leaves.

Very important for Alessandro is a series of decorative jewelry, real works of art created from the souls of dried lotus flowers, which reflect his own path of life: “The unknowing Me,” “The hatching Me” and “Big Bang Alessandro,” show the path of growth which have led him to open up in this new working adventure.”The unknowing Me” is spherical shaped and seeks a balance between everyday life and aspirations, hidden within himself, becomes “The hatching Me,” an egg with a which finally evolves into “Big Bang Alessandro,” an open egg gaving birth to his true self.

In a modern society, whose only goal is that of standardization, contrasts with the Mission of the company which refuses to conform; all elements in nature are unique, as is each product made. The extremism of this concept lies in the next project to be presented between March and April 2015; a new product line containing the DNA sequence of Alessandro himself (it will be possible to personalize with any DNA).

site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times
it’s difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and appearance.
I must say you have done a excellent job with this.
Also, the blog loads very fast for me on Chrome. Exceptional Blog!
